This is the typical picture on the screen computer, loaded from CD(DVD)-SilverDisk::

Some comments to this picture to demonstrate features::
1. All done in the MS DOS
environment..
2. Used file manager, shown not only English
but even Russian long (with spaces!)
file names correctly. It has English
or Russian (as shown on the picture) interface..
3. On the right side is the list of founded
disks::
- А – external USB
Floppy Disk
- C – virtual (RAM) disk
with 32 Mb volume
- D, Е – FAT-32 partitions
of external USB 2.0 HDD
- F – external USB
1.1 JetFlash storage, volume 128
Mb with FAT-32
- G, H, I, J, K, L –
NTSF partitions of the internal
IDE HDD
- M, N - NTSF
partitions of external USB 2.0 HDD
- X – internal Multi DVD
4.On the left side is the
content of zip-file just made and recorded
onto JetFlash with Long Russian name (with
spaces!) (is the MP3 song under the title
“The mood is improved” :-)

SiverDisk is not
«Universal boot disk» due to includes USB-drivers.
The tuning of these drivers under DOS seems like
art! So, to guarantee working with ANY external
devices is not author’s responsible. Presented set
of the programs was successfully tested on some
desktops and notebooks. I can prove with high certainty
the success loading on systems without «difficult»
detailes: external USB and FireWire storages, external
and internal SCSI-devices. And I’m sure you’ll have
no problems with loading notebook TOSHIBA Sattelite
S5200-902 :-).
This time you can download free

Brief instruction to make boot SilverDisk
1. Download ISO-image
SilverDisk ver.1
2. Using any suitable CD\DVD burn program (Roxio
“CD Creator” for example) make disk from the ISO-image
(«write from image»).
It’s the final! You can boot from
this burned disk, previously proved the right order
of boot devices in BIOS setup. But for some systems
(mainly notebooks) with external USB interface you
would need “physical” boot floppy (in you need to
write access floppy drive after system load). In
this case after make boot CD (in Windows, of course)
you need:
3. connect USB floppy drive
4. open SilverDisk in Explorer
5. run mkbootfp.bat, insert floppy disk into the
drive, and receive boot floppy
Important
notes:
1. Boot SilverDisk made by above
method not suitable for followed writing because
“disk finished”. But it can easy overcome!
2. This boot CD (or better DVD) SilverDisk can easy
(and even better!) used with Symantec Ghost utility
for disk restore.
3. There are lot of way to configure USB drivers
for DOS. Try set of switches individually.
4. There are alternate USB drivers for DOS from
IOMEGA. Better use it with IOMEGA devices.
